JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manage the organization’s data resources, which include managing multiple relational databases and servers hosted on Windows and Linux. Maintain the integrity of the data, recover corrupted data, and eliminate data redundancy. Optimize database performance. Provide support for Oracle and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server or as needed for other relational or non-relational databases. Work with the applications development teams(s), and focus on the back-end portion of data storage and performance considerations for application systems being developed. Design, implement, administer, and maintain databases in integrated, virtual, grid architecture. Ensure databases are backed up on regular schedules and ensure integrity of those backups. Optimize system layout and monitor capacity restraints. Administer database security, create, and administer user accounts. Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the database. Configure database network services. Interpret and write SQL queries and coach developers in SQL scripting. Also, develop and execute queries for ad-hoc retrievals and data mining. Support application development and testing to include: the review of application data models and database designs (logical & physical) with developers suggesting efficiencies where appropriate.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Years of Experience: 7+

 

Education/Certifications:

IT Level I; IAT Level II; Additional Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire

 

Clearance Level:

TS/SSBI
