Network Support Technician - Senior

LOCATION: Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Little Rock, AR



Responsible for monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provides primary interface with contractor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. May provide network server support. Requires extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multiprotocol environment, and network management software. May function as lead job providing guidance and training for less experienced technicians. Serves as the telecommunications engineer supporting technical task orders, group task orders, or projects in support of data, voice, and television distribution requirements. Submits recommendations for maintenance, repair, and installation of all cable and cable infrastructure throughout the 36 buildings, 84 classrooms, and 45 telecom rooms at Customer site. Provides schematics of any cable installations or changes made to the current cable infrastructure. Troubleshoots network issues and diagnoses problems using Local area network testing equipment (currently Fluke). Installs network switches and all related connections based on approved life-cycle plan or projects. Installs battery back-up units and related equipment per approved work orders submitted through help desk. Responds within 24 hours to trouble/issue tickets within the helpdesk system. Follows up with customers within 48 hours of completion to ensure trouble/issue ticket has been resolved.
