Systems Engineer - Senior

LOCATION: McClellan Park, CA



Manage and produce for DMEA IT systems technical documentation and guidelines based on Federal, DOD, and DMEA IT policies, and industry best practices. Gather, document, and validate the DMEA IT requirements. Working with DMEA, document functional and non-functional requirements and business case. Engineer, design, install, configure, and optimize IT systems based on DMEA requirements. Must have the ability to apply technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, applications, and utilities to the DMEA environment. Evaluate and determine computing resource requirements for ongoing and future DMEA projects. Provide system and engineering support for documented and approved projects and tasks. Ensure all engineered solutions follow DISA STIGs, DoD and DMEA policies and standards. Ensure engineered solutions are designed to maintain highest practical availability and service dependability. Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and Diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards. Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation. Support the MEDB project manager DMEA PMO and EA during requirement analysis to develop technical solution options. Provide DMEA management proposed configurations, optimizations, and system improvement plans. Work with the MEDB project manager DMEA PMO to establish and meet project milestones and deliverables. Ensure all solutions meet documented customer requirements and are within project scope. Follow all DMEA Change Management and Engineering Review processes. Ensure changes are completed according to the project schedule. Work as part of a project team to engineer and develop migration plans for existing services ensuring minimal service interruption. Engineer and design hardware solutions as required to ensure capacity and availability of DMEA services. Engineer, install, configure, optimize, support and design solutions that incorporate DoD security requirements such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Host Based Security System (HBSS). Perform duties as a Project Lead. Develop task lists, assist the MEDB project manager DMEA PMO with project documentation, maintain project status in the DMEA automated project tracking system, and ensure milestones are identified and met. Meet DMEA established service level metrics. Identify, analyze, and effect resolution of hardware, software, and network problems. Systems engineering tasks will be performed in support of Virtualization Platforms, Email Systems, Directory Services, Windows Server OS, SharePoint & Project Server, Networking Devices, Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Mobility Solutions, Linux Server OS, Cloud Professional Services, and Wireless Networking.



Years of Experience: 10+ yrs.



Be certified as IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01-M guidance for Baseline certifications. Be able to obtain a task order related computing environment system certifications IAW DoD 8570.01-M guidance for computing environment certifications and DMEA policy.
